2020 Favorite Things Gift Guide
Need ideas for gifts this year? Here are some of my Favorites things. Things that have made life easier, more beautiful and more fun!
My Simple Modern water bottle is never further than 6 feet from me. I carry it around everywhere! The carrying handle is my absolute favorite thing. It makes it easy to grab and run.
Also, these water bottles are insulated so no more sweaty bottles in the Texas humidity. Plus, they come in so many colors and patterns, and the straw makes it easy for me to stay hydrated.
You could easily customize one for a gift with some vinyl too!
These beach towels are not your normal beach towel!
They are the perfect towel, but also my new favorite throw. I bought some when we moved to the lake with sandy soil since the sand does not stick to the beautifully woven towels.
But I find I use them just as much as a soft blanket on a cool night or even just to toss on the bottom of my bed because they are so gorgeous. Even my sweet puppy Delilah loves cuddling in it.
Plus they have gorgeous bath towels, I am dying to replace my boring bath towels with these now. If you use my link below, you get $15 off a $50+ order!
This summer we had so much fun on the lake. If you are close to a lake or ocean, a stand up paddle board (SUP) is a must!
This is the one I bought this spring. It is inflatable so you can transport it easily and deflate for storage. I love the 70s surfer colors.
Not only is a SUP great for taking a quiet, solitary ride around the lake, but it's also great for taking the kids, or for them to play alone. My kids had many hours playing knock-each-other-off with it!
And you don't have to stand up to enjoy it. I have taken rides kneeling and sitting and we enjoyed it just as much!
Okay, I get it, cleaning supplies are not a good gift... but are they? To say I am obsessed with the Branch Basics would be an understatement. This cleaning solution really is my favorite thing!
This plant based, non-toxic cleaner actually works!!!
Before I found it, the only thing that would get rid of cooked on food off my glass cooktop was a Magic Eraser. When I first received my Branch Basics, I sprayed the All Purpose dilution onto the stove and let it sit while I cleaned the rest of the kitchen countertops. Then I went to scrub the stove and it just wiped off with almost no scrubbing!
It also does amazing on windows, makes your bathroom sparkle, cleans your floors, and more. We use the oxygen boost to soak stained shoes, clothing, and more and it cleans it beautifully.
Even if you don't buy it for a gift, you will love it for yourself and if you use my link, you get $10 off your order!
One of the things I missed the most about moving to Texas was the amazing tasting Utah water. Water coming off the mountains tastes much better than water from a water tower.
So we bought the Berkey water filter and absolutely love it! This thing not only makes your water taste better, but it filters out chemicals and pollutants in your water making it healthier for you.
And it leaves the minerals in there making it taste like delicious mountain water. We even use it to make our ice cube, water plants (since it filters out harmful chlorine that stunts house plant growth), and for all our cooking.
Plus our coffee tastes better with good water, which is important because this blog runs on coffee!
Yep, I jumped on the sourdough bread making with everyone else this year... and I love it!
My sister recommended this book to me after I asked her for some of her favorite recipes. It has been a wonderful sourdough cookbook. The sourdough bagels are heavenly!
If you know of anyone who wants to start with sourdough baking, they will love this beginners cookbook, and even if they are not newbies, there are some amazing recipes in here.
If you need a stocking stuffer for a DIYer, these are my absolute favorite safety glasses.
I struggle with finding safety glasses that stay put on my smaller head since most seem to be made to fit men's heads. These one not only stay on my head and are super comfy, but my husband loves them too.
We buy them 4 at a time and make sure to always have a few on hand for remodeling, woodworking and painting projects.
I am pretty cheap when it comes to electronics, I have been using a pair of $40 wireless earbuds for the last year. But my sweet husband surprised me with the new AirPods Pro for my birthday this summer.
I don't really care about sound quality, but the noise cancelling feature is my new favorite! I can listen to audiobooks and podcasts in the shop working and these block out so much noise. And they are comfortable enough to wear for hours on end.
But the best thing about them is how easy it is to use them on multiple Apple devices. They seamless connect to my phone, then iPad and even my computer, then back again based on what is playing sound at the time. So cool!
If you are working in a dim room, trying to do woodworking or crafts, you know how valuable lighting is. I struggled with enough lighting in our old garage so I bought these LED garage lights.
They give off so much light, and fit into a standard bulb socket. And we brought them with us when we moved which has been a life saver in our new shop.
Even before we had electricity, we could run these lights on my photography light stands and get light in every corner!
This little tool is my favorite DIY stocking stuffer! I use it not just in my shop when doing woodworking, but also when doing remodels and crafts. It's so useful!
I call it my favorite Kreg tool and am constantly misplacing it while working. My husband jokes that I need 5 of these so I can have one at each workstation!
Even though I have shared it on my favorite things list before, I just love this little thing so much I wanted to share it again.

It's too bad we're relocating to Panama next year - I'd love that garage light for my husband. He'd totally love it when wood-working in there. Great gift ideas!
