The Halloween decorating is in full swing at our house. Now that the mantle has been made into spooky perfection, it was time to spread out to the rest of the house. Since I don’t have a coffee table to decorate (yet…), I decided to tackle the next most obvious flat surface: the dining room table.

DIY Metal Hexagon Wall Art

I love this idea for art! Use a combination of wood and metal to make a statement home decor piece. This DIY metal hexagon wall art is the perfect way to add design to your home on a budget. | Housefulofhandmade.com

Today I sent my son off on his first day of school. He was so excited to be starting the second grade and is starting to act like he doesn’t need his mommy anymore. Of course, I walked him to the door on his first day even though he told me he didn’t need me to.

I am not a sentimental mom, I have actually been looking forward to school starting so I can have some time to get things crossed off my list, but come on buddy, I still get to walk you to your class on the first day.

I am working hard (or hardly working) on our master bathroom vanity! I spent the whole day in the garage on Monday, but it was such a mess from all the other projects I have been working on, so I spent the day cleaning and organizing instead of building.

Now I have a place to build the vanity and this coming week there is nothing going on so I will also have time. I can almost smell the progress!

I have been obsessed with all the beautiful woven wall hangings I have seen all over the internet lately. They are such a fun way to add some texture and style to otherwise boring walls. I am trying to get more creative with my wall art so I decided to give it a shot and try my hand at weaving.

Since I am still on a coastal kick for summer, I decided to start with a woven anchor wall hanging. My first weaving isn’t perfect (actually very far from it), but it was fun and I learned a lot so my next project will be better. And I am sharing what I learned with you today!
